Meet Kym.

Kym Smith is the founder and creative visionary of Magnolia Gray Interiors. Born in West Palm Beach and raised in Orlando, Kym has always had a passion for art and design. It’s one she can trace all the way back to her childhood, when she used scrap fabrics from mother to craft window treatments and bed coverings for her Barbie Townhome. Art classes provided a disciplined creative outlet for Kym. It was something she always looked forward to during the school day. As her appreciation for design blossomed, so did her aspirations to make it the focus of her career, beginning with obtaining a degree in Interior Design from Florida State University.

After college, Kym began her career drafting floor plans for conventions and soon transitioned to interior design. She also took on jobs working for other interior designers, and eventually, after years of learning the in’s and out’s of the business, she took a risk and began her own firm. The rest is history.

Kym’s had the privilege of designing spaces for a variety of clients, from drafting floor plans for large corporations like Walt Disney World and the Orange County Convention Center to private estates, small residences, and everything in between.

She always makes time to give back to her community and has been a part of the Leu Gardens Museum Holiday Decorating event and the Orlando Museum of Art Festival of Trees for many years. She also supports One Heart for Women and Children, Mike Rowe WORKS Foundation, and her local church.

Kym designs spaces for her clients that reflect their own dreams and passions. Kym’s favorite part? Installation day, where clients can see their dream become a reality. She has found inspiration in the beauty of the North Carolina countryside after her move to Maggie Valley. She enjoys the changing seasons and making new contacts in the Asheville and surrounding areas.
